Reolink 10-Port PoE Switch — 8 PoE + 2 Gigabit Uplink (RLA-PS1)
Product description
This Reolink 10-port PoE switch (RLA-PS1) provides eight 10/100/1000Mbps PoE ports and two gigabit uplink ports (10/100/1000Mbps). It complies with IEEE 802.3af/at and can supply up to 30W to each PoE port, with a combined power budget of 120W to support up to eight powered devices.
To protect connected equipment and preserve essential devices, the unit uses an intelligent power-management scheme: if the total demand exceeds the 120W budget, lower-priority ports are sequentially shut off until consumption falls within the available budget. The switch also automatically detects whether an attached device requires PoE and will not apply power to non-PoE equipment, reducing the risk of damage.
Included in the package are the PoE switch and its external power adapter; a mounting kit is provided for wall or desktop installation. The enclosure is metal, giving a sturdy feel and helping dissipate heat. The switch’s compact footprint fits easily on small shelves and in 10-inch cabinet spaces, and the power brick offers a generous cable length for flexible placement.
Operation is simple: a single Ethernet cable to each camera carries both data and power, making installs cleaner than separate power runs. For system layout, the switch can be connected directly to an NVR for a dedicated path, placed on the same LAN as an NVR to use additional camera features, or used to link cameras and a router when an NVR is not present.
Pros
- Provides up to 30W per port with an overall 120W budget
- Auto-detection and power management protect devices
- Sturdy metal case with compact footprint and easy mounting
Cons
- Unmanaged — no advanced network configuration options
- 120W total can limit how many high-draw devices run simultaneously
- Uses an external power brick rather than internal PSU
VerdictA straightforward, plug-and-play PoE hub for camera systems that delivers reliable power and data over a single cable. With an all-metal enclosure and a 120W total budget, it keeps multiple cameras online and offers useful behavior when power demand exceeds capacity. Ideal for users who want a no-frills, dependable way to expand PoE camera networks.

Ideal for powering Reolink cameras
I used this to feed several Reolink cameras and setup was effortless. Each camera gets power and data over one cable, which tidied up the installation compared with separate power lines. The eight PoE ports serve cameras while the two uplinks connect to my router and NVR without fuss. Runs continuously with no connection or power drops — compact and quiet.

Very reliable in harsh conditions
Easy to install and it improved the clarity and stability of our security feeds. It has been flawless in bad weather and runs cool. I’m adding two more cameras because it handles long runs and power-hungry models without trouble.

Upgraded from a smaller switch
I replaced a 4-port switch to add more cameras and needed the extra power. This eight-port model provides 120W total, which keeps my cameras and a floodlight powered with room to spare. It handles multiple RLC840s and a floodlight without strain.

Solid build and dependable operation
Metal construction and well-seated ports give a premium feel. It fits neatly on a small shelf and the front-facing indicators make monitoring easy. Ports negotiate quickly, supply appropriate power, and the uplinks let me tie into another switch and my NVR. The external power brick is robust and the cable lengths are convenient.

Good unit with helpful support
My first unit arrived defective but the company replaced it quickly and without hassle. I like that it has dedicated uplink ports rather than needing to reserve a PoE port for uplink. It’s a simple, reliable plug-and-play device with a 120W power budget.
