1500VA/900W Line-Interactive UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector
Product description
This line-interactive uninterruptible power supply combines surge protection with battery backup to keep sensitive electronics running through brief outages and voltage disturbances. The package includes the UPS unit itself, an internal sealed lead-acid battery, a user guide, and a USB communication port for monitoring and graceful shutdown via downloadable software.
The unit delivers up to 1500VA (900W) and provides ten NEMA 5-15R outlets: five are both surge-protected and supported by the battery, while five provide surge-only protection. At half load (750VA / 450W) you can expect roughly ten minutes of runtime; at maximum rated load (1500VA / 900W) runtime is around 1.5 minutes. These figures vary with the actual devices attached.
Housed in a compact mini-tower enclosure made from durable ABS plastic, the UPS is designed to tuck under desks or inside media cabinets. It ships with a six-foot AC power cord to reach typical wall outlets. Built-in Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects minor under- and over-voltage conditions without using the battery, and the inverter provides simulated sinewave output when running from battery so many consumer electronics and computing devices will operate during a power loss.
Intended use is straightforward: plug critical hardware (PCs, NAS, DVRs, modems, routers, game consoles, TVs) into the battery-backed outlets to allow continued operation or safe shutdowns, and use the surge-only outlets for ancillary gear. The USB communication port enables monitoring, logging, and automated shutdowns when paired with the manufacturer's or compatible third-party software. Overall, it’s a compact solution for protecting equipment from surges and giving you enough time to save work and power down properly.
Pros
- Five battery-backed outlets plus five surge-only outlets
- AVR stabilizes voltage without draining the battery
- Compact mini-tower fits under desks and in entertainment centers
Cons
- Simulated sinewave output may trouble some sensitive power supplies
- Short runtime under full load
- Manufacturer software can be awkward on some systems
VerdictThis mini-tower UPS delivers solid surge protection and short-term battery backup for home electronics, office PCs, NAS boxes, and entertainment setups. It offers 1500VA/900W capacity with five battery-backed and five surge-only outlets, AVR to smooth voltage swings, and simulated sinewave output. Runtime is brief at full load but practical at partial loads. Good for preventing data loss and keepi

Unreliable output waveform on some gear
Provides backup power, but when on battery my TV’s power supply hummed loudly; I heard similar noise from some computer PSUs. Incandescent bulbs worked fine and runtime was acceptable, but I couldn’t trust it for sensitive equipment. Would have returned if still within the window.

Solid performer
Simple statement: it works well and has been reliable in my setup.

Neat fit behind my entertainment center
Only slightly wider than my previous surge strip, it fit behind the console with no trouble. My TV, DVR, and amp stayed powered through a brief brownout the day after installation, avoiding reboots. Works well for brief dips in power.

Indispensable during outages
I own two units now. They keep key electronics running long enough to shut them down cleanly instead of losing power abruptly. One kept my modem and router alive through a multi-hour outage so internet stayed up for the duration.

Saved our console and TV
Keeps our PS5 and TV from rebooting during frequent flickers on our mountain line. When power briefly drops, the devices stay on and I can power them down gracefully if the outage lasts. It also signals low incoming voltage to warn you.

Dependable unit I bought twice
I purchased this model twice for field radio operations paired with a diesel generator to balance loads. It’s simple but includes a USB port for PC monitoring and the vendor supplies monitoring software at no extra charge. It has worked reliably for my setup.

Gives me peace of mind
I use it for a small always-on server and set the protection to the highest sensitivity. During a storm it kicked in immediately and protected my equipment. Setup was plug-and-play and switching between protected outlets is simple. You can hear a faint click when it transfers to battery.

Solid basic UPS for a legacy server
Sturdy unit with enough capacity for my older Windows Home Server and another PC. Lots of outlets. The only drawback was the vendor software didn’t run on my aged server OS, so it isn’t configured to auto-shut it down yet. Compact and well made.

Functional but software is finicky
I own two units for a NAS and a desktop. The manual is clear, but the recommended monitoring app behaved badly on Windows 11—browser-based and certificate warnings. I switched to third-party Power Panel software which works as a standalone app. The UPS hardware communicates via USB and reports status fine.

Supports my high-end PC alongside Powerwalls
This UPS protected my expensive workstation from surges when nearby strikes dimmed the lines. I use it in front of home battery backup; the UPS provides the immediate response my Powerwalls can’t always match. Note: line frequency differences can affect how the unit interprets input and limit available run time.

Long wait but worth it
Ordered late May and didn’t receive it until early August — a long delay. The unit itself is worth having; during a recent 45-minute outage my internet, Wi‑Fi, and servers stayed online thanks to this UPS.

Handles abrupt breaker trips
My room breaker trips frequently; this UPS eliminated sudden shutdowns. After charging it a few days, we tested by tripping the breaker and there was no disruption on screen—only the wall clock lost power. Very reliable for my needs.

Manufactured by a known OEM
Feels robust and appears to be built by a reputable OEM, which uses its PowerPanel software for Windows integration. It can shut down a PC and then power itself off when commanded. On some setups, like my UnRAID server, I could get the server to stop but not the UPS to power down automatically.
