Dried Pea & Carrot Flakes — 8 oz Treats for Small Pets
Product description
This product is an 8 oz packet of mixed dried pea flakes and dehydrated carrot pieces intended for small herbivorous pets. The ingredients are simple: split pea flakes and carrot pieces preserved by drying — no complicated crunchy mixes or added sweets are required to provide flavor and texture.
The packaging contains an 8 oz quantity that is easy to portion. Serve the mix on its own as an occasional treat, sprinkle a handful over a daily food blend, or fold it into a homemade pellet-and-vegetable mix. The small, flaky pieces are convenient for older animals that need smaller mouthfuls and for youngsters learning to nibble.
Beyond taste, the flakes provide useful dietary fiber, plant protein, potassium and vitamins A, C and E to complement a hay-forward feeding plan. They can also be pushed into foraging toys or spread around the enclosure to encourage digging and exploration, keeping animals active and mentally stimulated.
Chewing these dried vegetables gives teeth and jaws gentle exercise, which can be helpful for dental health when used alongside appropriate hay and chewing blocks. The product is marketed for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, degus, prairie dogs and other small herbivores that benefit from occasional vegetable treats.

- Great for mixing into meals or hiding in foraging toys

Cons

VerdictThis 8 oz bag of dried peas and carrots is a convenient way to add vegetable variety to the diets of small herbivores. Other guinea pigs preferred it
Our picky pigs wouldn't touch it, so I passed the extras to a neighbor. Their guinea pigs went crazy for it, so quality seemed fine even if ours ignored it.

My guineas are thrilled
I sprinkle this on their kibble and they squeal each time. They usually scatter hay and waste a lot, so a little of this with some hay makes mealtime less messy and more appealing.

Long-lasting favorite for my bunny
This lasts a while and my Netherland dwarf really likes them. Given his chronic respiratory issues, I like that there aren’t harmful extras. He comes running when he hears the bag.

Instant wheeks from my pigs
My guinea pigs start wheeking as soon as I open the package — they clearly recognize and anticipate this treat.

Both pigs love them
Both of our guinea pigs are fans. They come out chirping whenever the bag appears because they know treats are on the way. I’ll get more.

Great for my older rabbit
My senior rabbit can still crunch these small flakes. They’re easy for her to chew and she happily enjoys a small scoop now and then.

Works well mixed into her meals
I prepare a custom food blend for my guinea pig and these pea and carrot flakes fit right in. She enjoys the extra textures and vegetables, and the bag mixed into a larger batch lasts a long time. Everything arrived fresh and she loves rummaging to find the pieces.
