White Paper Bedding for Small Pets — 49.2 L Bag
Product description
What's included: one 49.2 liter bag of white paper bedding.
Material and construction: This bedding is made from premium, processed paper that contains no added fragrances, harmful chemicals, or by-products. The fibers are manufactured to be soft and cushiony, offering a gentle surface for small animals. The product is formulated to be low-dust (about 99% dust-free) to help protect small lungs and sensitive noses.
Performance and use: The paper substrate expands when fluffed or disturbed, creating deep, fluffy layers that encourage burrowing and nesting. It is rated to absorb up to six times its own weight in liquid, helping to keep the habitat drier and reduce persistent odors. The white color makes it easier to see soiled spots and monitor droppings, which can be useful for tracking pet health. To use, spread a generous layer across the floor of the enclosure, fluff as needed to increase loft, and spot-clean regularly; full replacement frequency will depend on animal type and cage size. Suitable for rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas and other small mammals.
Pros
- Very absorbent — up to 6x its weight
- Soft and gentle on paws and noses
- Low dust compared with many alternatives
Cons
- White bedding shows stains more quickly
- Occasional batches can be dustier
- Lightweight — can shift around in active enclosures
VerdictA comfortable paper-based substrate that soaks up moisture, minimizes odors, and creates a plush nesting surface for small pets. The 49.2 L bag provides a generous amount of white, chemical-free paper that is gentle on paws and noses. It performs well for burrowing species and reduces airborne dust compared with many wood shavings, though light discoloration shows quickly on white material and som

Works great for kids' hamsters
We've repurchased this a few times for our child's hamster. Quality is reliable, it fills the cage well, and the amount you get lasts through several cleanings.

Ideal for hedgehogs
I switched to this for my hedgehog's litter area and she prefers it over other substrates. It’s gentle and soaks up liquids. Delivery was quick and the bedding is kind to sensitive pets' eyes and noses.

Essential for hamster care
My daughter has kept several hamsters and this bedding is her go-to. It fluffs nicely, curbs odor, and looks tidy — good value for what you get.

Does the job with little mess
This expands a lot once fluffed and doesn’t scatter excessively outside the guinea pig area. Swap it weekly to avoid that barnyard smell if you wait too long.

A popular pick for burrowing pets
Very soft and comfortable for small critters; it expands well and is good for digging and nesting. Absorbs a lot of moisture and helps control smells. Mostly low dust, though some people notice the occasional dusty batch and white material can show messes faster.

Soft, absorbent and low-dust
After trying several substrates, this paper bedding provided the softest nesting surface and kept my rabbit’s pen drier longer. Odor control is strong and the low dust level gives me peace of mind about respiratory health.

Top paper substrate I've used
This white paper bedding has been excellent for my hamster: soft, low-dust and highly absorbent. The large quantity lasts a long time, so it’s a solid value and keeps the cage cleaner for longer.

Absorbs well and the pet likes it
The compressed bag is easy to store and the material expands when handled. It cuts down on smell and soaks up urine fairly well, though not every drop. With small cages plan to refresh bedding every 3–5 days; larger enclosures can go longer. My hamster uses it to build cozy nests and stays warm, though the loose paper can move around a bit.
