Compatibility and note: Confirm radio fit using the connector image before buying. This two-pin speaker microphone works with a wide range of handheld radios including many Baofeng models (UV-5R series, UV-82 series, BF-F8 series and similar), plus Kenwood-style, Retevis, PUXING, Wouxun, Anytone, TYT, Samcom and other two-pin devices. It is not intrinsically safe and only offers splash resistance to IP54 standards. An 18-month warranty is included.
Rugged construction: The mic body is molded from impact-resistant engineering polycarbonate and houses an SMT electronics board with internal vibration damping. It includes a detachable, heavy-duty stainless steel clip that rotates 360 degrees for flexible mounting. Precision molding and sturdy assembly are used throughout so the unit tolerates knocks and daily field use.
Reinforced cable: The coiled cable uses TPU outer coating for abrasion and scratch resistance and a well-formed coil memory. Internally the cable is reinforced with high-tensile fibers and Kevlar strands to increase tensile strength and durability. A TPU strain-relief at the joins helps prevent premature wear where the cord bends the most.
Audio components: A high-performance micro speaker and a noise-cancelling microphone are built in to keep outgoing and incoming audio clear in noisy environments. High-purity copper conductors and anti-interference circuit design reduce noise and improve clarity for both transmit and receive paths.
Connector quality: The radio connector is finished with a TPU rubber jacket and a rigid internal core, with nickel-plated brass pins for reliable contact. Solder joints and molded interfaces are manufactured for stable connectivity and long service life. The package includes the speaker microphone with its attached coiled cable and the rotatable clip.

Decent overall but a few audio quirks
Audio reports are generally positive but the speaker can sound a bit tinny and there's a small pop when keying. The clip is very strong but cannot be removed to access the rear mic pin. Good value, but some minor refinements would help.

My go-to replacement mic
This is my second Commountain mic and it outperforms the factory Baofeng unit. Robust construction, smooth controls and reliable volume/PTT operation. I’ll keep buying these for my handhelds.

Excellent audio, very durable
Both speaker and mic deliver great audio on my 5R-mini, noticeably better than the brand mic. Cable is beefy and the metal clip is deep but very sturdy—works well for my needs.

Well-built and dependable

Feels solid — cosmetic vents are decorative
Performs well. The small vent-like indents on the faceplate are decorative, not actual holes; the company confirmed the omni-directional mic picks up through the speaker window. No need to drill anything — speak into the center vents for best pickup.

Pro-level feel without the premium badge
After decades using professional PTT mics I tried several pricier alternatives that had issues. This Commountain mic impressed me from the packaging to the heft of the coiled cord. The thicker, properly coiled cable, solid Kenwood-style connector, well-made housing, firm PTT and smoothly rotating clip all feel like pro-grade gear.
