UDAP No-Fed-Bear Canister Carrying Case — Carry Case Only
Product description
Developed by grizzly attack survivor Mark Matheny, this carry case was created from firsthand experience to improve how people transport bear-resistant canisters in the backcountry.
Sized specifically for UDAP’s No-Fed-Bear bear-resistant canister, the product is the carrying case only — the canister is not included. It is tailored to accept that canister model so it can be stored or strapped on externally when you don’t want it inside your daypack or pack basket.
The case is built from durable outdoor fabric with reinforced webbing and quick-release buckles. A shoulder-style carrying strap is included for hand or shoulder transport. Multiple webbing loops allow the case to be lashed to a backpack, secured to a pack animal, or hung at camp.
Attachment is straightforward: slide the canister into the pouch, secure buckles or webbing as needed, and clip or thread the straps to your pack. When not clipped externally, the case can help keep the canister contained and organized inside a larger pack or at a campsite.
Materials are chosen for a balance of durability and light weight suitable for hiking and camping. The construction emphasizes functional straps and buckles intended to withstand outdoor use, while keeping overall weight down for long treks.

Construction favors lightweight materials and reinforced webbing for routine outdoor use; users should be mindful of the zipper and treat the fabric with some

Useful addition for a bear vault
I’m retired and impartial — we’ve used a friend’s unit many times. My clear canister with a screw lid was deemed vulnerable by rangers, but my friend’s device held up. Without a cover we packed his canister inside a pack, which was bulky. This case lets you strap the canister outside a pack and hang it at camp, and it helps keep things organized when the canister is not in use.

Good for smaller canisters like Lighter 1
Great holder for compact canisters such as the Lighter 1. Plenty of strap points to lash to a pack and it looks good; seems well made.

Handy companion for the canister
Fits UDAP’s No-Fed-Bear canister snugly with enough clearance to remove and replace it easily. The fabric is on the lightweight side, so handle it with care.

Compact size worked for motorcycle trips
Compact size worked well on my motorcycle. Remember the canister is separate — this cover makes it possible to strap the canister to a bike.

BV450 barely fits
My BV450 just fits; the BV500 was too large so I returned it. This carrier will let me attach the canister to the outside of my pack.
