Survival Emergency Thermal Blankets Kit — Extra-Large Mylar 84×63
Product description
Aluminized mylar construction: Each blanket is made from a high-strength aluminized mylar film that reflects about 90% of radiated body heat to help reduce the risk of hypothermia in cold or exposed conditions. The material is lightweight yet engineered to provide thermal insulation when wrapped around a person or used inside an improvised shelter.
Kit quantities and sizing: These kits are offered in multiple counts — 4, 10, 25, 30, 50, 75, or 100 pieces — so you can supply individual kits, vehicles, or larger group needs. Every sheet measures approximately 84 inches by 63 inches, giving about 23% more coverage than many standard space blankets and accommodating most adult body sizes for full-body wrapping.
Durability and protection: The blankets feature a double-stretched, reinforced design intended to resist punctures and tears. They are windproof and waterproof, able to stand up to rain, snow, and rough handling in outdoor or roadside situations. The surface can show wear from abrasion but continues to function as a thermal barrier.
Portability and weight: Each blanket weighs roughly 2 ounces and folds down to a compact size comparable to a credit card or small wallet, making it simple to stow in backpacks, glove compartments, first-aid kits, or emergency grab bags. Their low mass ensures they add minimal bulk when carried for travel, hiking, or daily preparedness.
Multi-use functionality: Beyond emergency warming, these sheets can be rigged as shelters, used as ground covers, improvised ponchos, sun shades, or visual signals. Their oversized dimensions and reinforced film increase versatility for outdoor sports, disaster response, homeless care, and first-aid scenarios where a lightweight, reusable thermal layer is needed.
Pros
- Reflects ~90% of body heat for thermal protection
- Extra-large 84" x 63" size covers most adults
- Ultra-light and compresses to pocket size
Cons
- Thin single-layer film — not a substitute for insulation
- Surface can show scratches or dulling with use
- Not padding — pairs best with other insulation
VerdictThese extra-large mylar blankets deliver wide coverage and strong heat reflection in a featherweight package. The reinforced, waterproof sheets are tear-resistant enough for rugged use and multi-purpose tasks like wrapping, sheltering, or blocking sun. They aren’t thick padding, but their portability and thermal performance make them a practical staple for emergency packs, vehicles, and outdoor ac

Pet-approved crinkle factor
I actually bought one for my cat — she loves the crinkly sound. If you have pets that enjoy noisy materials, these will be a hit.

Intended as single-use backups
I purchased these expecting they might be used once in severe weather or similar emergencies. They seem fine for that disposable, get-home purpose.

Performs its intended role
They appear to do what they’re designed for. Adequate for emergency wrapping or temporary shelter and simple to deploy in urgent situations.

Durable but conspicuous color
They are large and sturdy, though my set arrived in green. I don’t always want to be visible, so the bright color is a downside for me compared with a more covert option.

Handy emergency kit addition
I keep several of these in my car and pack. They’re light, stow easily, and take up almost no room. I hope I never need them for real, but I’m glad they’re available when I’m out camping or on the road.

Good reflective window shield
I taped one to my patio door to cut direct afternoon sun and it lowered the indoor heat noticeably. It’s not thick but is easier to apply than foil. Pets scratched at it without tearing it open, although the shine lost streaks where they pawed. With 25 in the kit, I’ll be set for a long time.

Works well as a sun blocker
I use these to keep late-afternoon sun from overheating a bedroom. The measurements matched my window perfectly and they reduced the heat gain effectively.
