Creality Sermoon S1 Handheld 3D Scanner — Blue Laser, 90FPS
Product description
All-in-one capture range
The Sermoon S1 covers scans from fine jewelry or dental models up to large automotive panels and architectural elements. Its effective scanning distance spans 5 mm to 4,000 mm, removing the need for separate small- and large-object scanners and expanding utility across prototyping, reverse engineering, quality inspection and large-format design tasks.
Triple blue-laser modes
The unit uses three selectable blue-laser patterns: 34 crossed lines for rapid, large-area capture; 7 parallel lines for higher-detail surface definition; and a single-line mode optimized for deep holes, grooves and edges. These modes let users prioritize speed or resolution without swapping equipment.
Accuracy and speed
Optical performance targets up to 0.02 mm point accuracy and around 0.08 mm/m volumetric precision, suitable for CAD, inspection and production applications. The scanner captures frames at up to 90 FPS, helping to gather dense datasets quickly and limit the need for repeated passes.
Optics and workflow
Built on a four-lens stereo-vision arrangement, the scanner supports efficient marker-free scanning with fewer setup steps. It pairs with AI-enhanced software that assists with alignment, mesh generation and cleanup, and provides export options for CAD, CAM, 3D printing and inspection packages.
What’s included and physical details
The package typically contains the handheld scanner, calibration panels/targets, mounting accessories, USB and power cables, and a license for the manufacturer’s scanning software. The enclosure is a rigid molded housing with hand-held form factor and standard tripod or mount interfaces. Marker targets (sold separately) improve alignment on low-feature or glossy surfaces.
System requirements
Recommended: Windows i7 Gen10 or newer with 32 GB RAM, or macOS M1/M2/M3 with 16 GB RAM. Minimum: Windows i7 Gen7 with 16 GB RAM. Connectivity and software installs are required for full functionality.
Pros
- Very wide scan range (5 mm–4,000 mm)
- High single-point accuracy (0.02 mm) and 90 FPS capture
- Flexible triple laser modes for varied geometry
Cons
- Marker-free work may still struggle on featureless gloss surfaces
- High system requirements for large datasets
- Reflective or very shiny finishes often need targets or prep
VerdictThe Sermoon S1 delivers a wide capture envelope and professional-grade precision in a single handheld unit. Its triple blue-laser system switches between dense crossed lines for fast coverage, parallel lines for detail, and a single-line mode for deep or narrow features. With 90 FPS scanning and AI-driven processing, it reduces rescans and shortens postprocessing. Expect effective marker-free resu

Tomakze 5/5
Exactly what you need for glossy panels
These target stickers noticeably improved my tracking on smooth, low-detail surfaces. They do create tiny bumps in the mesh because of their reflective finish — some software can remove them automatically, but mine needed manual cleanup. Adhesion is good across most materials and they peel off cleanly. Ideal for scanning car fenders or other shiny panels where the scanner loses features.

Sleefany 5/5
Noticeable improvement in alignment
The 6 mm targets stick well, come off cleanly, and significantly reduced my alignment errors — roughly halving them in my tests. They require a scanner that supports marker tracking; they worked with my Creality Ferret as well as the originals. Large projects will use many markers, but they’re straightforward to apply and remove from plastic, metal or resin.

StraightShot Reviews 5/5
Strong hold, no residue
Excellent adhesion without leaving residue, even on glossy ABS. The retroreflective surface improved tracking on my Revopoint Miraco and noticeably reduced alignment error.

Reliable dots that sped up my scanning
These marker dots helped me get consistent first-pass scans once I learned the workflow. They peel off easily, but I often leave them in place if I expect to rescan. They held up on a basement drain and a TV remote for months without peeling, which speaks to their adhesion and durability.

Handy and consistent for hobby scanning
Perfect for a home 3D scanning setup — they stick reliably, peel off cleanly and the scanner recognizes them instantly. Good value and they made my hobby scans much more stable. I’ll buy them again.

High-quality retroreflective targets
Tried these with a Creality Raptor, Creaform Peel 2 and K scan Magic — all showed solid tracking. The retroreflective grain is fine, producing strong detection points that make center finding easier. They come on flexible sheets and are designed for one-time use, though I sometimes get a couple of uses from a single sticker. Clean the surface before applying and use a plastic blade to remove if needed.

Helps capture small or low-contrast parts
I use a Revopoint Miraco and it struggles with tiny uniform items. These markers made alignment much more reliable both freehand and on a turntable. They perform like the original targets that came with my unit. Each sheet has 40 markers (400 total), and for repeated workflows I print multi-faceted marker blocks to reuse them efficiently.
