Charades for Kids — Picture-Clue Family Acting Game (Ages 4+)
Product description
This version of Charades for Kids is built for group play with components sized and designed for little hands. The game set contains 150 double-sided charade cards printed on sturdy cardstock, a plastic sand timer to limit turns, a molded plastic die that selects one of three clue levels, and a folded rules leaflet. The cards are pocket-friendly (roughly standard playing-card dimensions) and store in a compact box of about five inches across.
Play is simple and adaptable. Each card shows the same prompt at three difficulty levels: a picture for non-readers, a simple word for early readers, and a short phrase for older children. Players take turns acting out the prompt while teammates guess before the timer runs out. The die selects which difficulty level to use, so children of varying ages and reading abilities can participate together. Recommended for three or more players ages four and up, it’s useful at home, in classrooms, or in therapy settings where turn-taking and expressive skills are practiced.
Pros
- Picture clues let non-readers take part
- Three difficulty levels suit mixed-age groups
- Compact set that’s easy to take along
Cons
- Cards are small for some hands
- Simple components feel basic
- Limited challenge for older teens
VerdictA lively, family-friendly charades kit that balances accessibility and challenge. The illustrated cards make it easy for young children to join in while older players can use the words and higher-level prompts. Compact, easy to teach and quick to play, it’s ideal for family game nights, classrooms, or therapy sessions where movement and speaking practice are welcome.

I use it during our Fun Friday hour and my third graders loved it. The pictures help most students, and ELL learners enjoyed acting even when I explained a few words.

Useful for therapy and learning
As a BCBA I use these with 5–10-year-olds. The three levels let me adapt prompts for communication and turn-taking practice; very handy to carry.
