Carcassonne Expansion — Bridges & Castles: Tiles, Bridges & Tokens
Product description
What you get: a small expansion pack that includes 12 bridge miniatures, 6 castle tokens, 6 stable tokens and a handful of extra tiles plus a concise rule sheet. Components are produced to match the base set: painted plastic bridges, thick cardboard tokens for castles and stables, and standard-sized Carcassonne tiles. The bridge pieces measure roughly 4–5 cm in length and sit on top of tiles; castle and stable tokens are about 2–3 cm across, sized to be visible but unobtrusive on the playing area.
How it works: bridges permit roads to be continued across gaps where a tile would normally be required, opening up new route-building options and more complex tile placement. Castle tokens can be added to qualifying small towns to increase their scoring potential and create new interactions for knights and maidens. Stable tokens are placed adjacent to farms or meeples to award extra points at game end, altering farmer priorities and endgame calculations. New tiles are shuffled with the base tiles; when drawn they enable placement of the corresponding miniature or token and follow the expansion’s placement rules.
Compatibility and play experience: designed to integrate smoothly with the base Carcassonne set and most other official expansions, this pack is aimed at players seeking more nuanced decisions without a steep rules increase. The pieces are durable and easy to handle; the rule sheet explains integration and clarifies scoring. Expect richer tactical choices in road-building and farming, and slightly longer but more strategic matches.

VerdictBridges & Castles introduces a modest set of new components that change placement decisions and scoring opportunities without overcomplicating the core game. If you want extra tactical depth and more varied endgame scoring, this expansion delivers solidly
