Canon imageCLASS LBP6030w Monochrome Compact Wireless Laser Printer
Product description
Print speed and capacity: The LBP6030w produces up to 19 pages per minute and holds up to 150 sheets in its input tray. It is a single-function, black-and-white laser printer intended for printing only.
Connectivity and power: This model supports USB and wireless printing from compatible devices, enabling printing from most workspaces. In Energy Saver mode it consumes under 2 watts, helping reduce standby power draw.
Consumables and warranty: The engine works with Canon Genuine Toner 125 cartridges, which are rated at about a 1,600-page yield. The device is sold with a one-year limited warranty. Package contents typically include the printer, power cable and user documentation; consumables are installed or specified per retailer.
Design and use: The housing is a compact white unit designed to fit on a desk or small shelf in a home, school or small office environment. As a single-task printer, it focuses on producing sharp black text and graphics quickly rather than offering scanning, copying, or faxing features.
Pros
- Compact footprint fits tight workspaces
- Fast monochrome printing at 19 ppm
- Low standby energy consumption
Cons
- Initial setup can be awkward for some devices
- No scanning, copying, or fax functions
- Limited native support for some mobile platforms
VerdictA no-frills, space-saving monochrome laser for personal or small office use. Fast single-task printing, low idle power, and reliable toner yields are balanced by a fiddly setup process and limited mobile compatibility for some users.

Could not establish a usable connection
After trying multiple setup methods—USB-only, wireless, with and without internet, and automatic Windows setup—the computer saw the device but would not produce prints. I spent hours troubleshooting and ultimately returned it when printing never materialized.

Durable, economical monochrome printing
Quality comes through once it’s configured. This is a simple laser that uses toner rather than ink, so cartridges last much longer and don’t dry out. It prints only in black and white, and it excels at fast, crisp text. Setup required patience and following the installer steps, but once on USB or Wi‑Fi it ran reliably for years for me.

Works well but Mac setup was a pain
Prints nicely and reasonably fast, though you’ll hear some noise while it runs. Mac setup was difficult—an adapter was needed for my laptop and wireless configuration wouldn’t complete, so I had to keep the printer beside my workspace. Otherwise the output is good.

Solid performance for the money
Despite mixed feedback I expected compromises and was pleasantly surprised. It’s quiet, energy-efficient and prints quickly. Initial Wi‑Fi setup was the only hassle since you must connect it to a PC first, but once on the network it has been flawless.

Reliable across multiple platforms
Easy to use once online. I connected it to a household router and it works with Windows, Linux, Android, iPhone and macOS. For a compact laser its print quality is excellent, especially with heavier laser paper.

Setup difficulties and returns hassle
Installation options are limited if your system expects a CD-based installer, and online driver discovery isn’t obvious. Returning the unit felt complicated and costly in my experience.

Good print quality, confusing documentation
After switching from an inkjet this unit met my needs for clear black printing and speed. Wi‑Fi works fine, though an Ethernet port would have been handy. The install guide could be clearer; the process requires a temporary USB connection and downloading the correct driver for your OS from Canon’s support pages.

Lacks native iOS printing
Didn’t meet expectations because there’s no built-in AirPrint support. If you rely on direct iOS printing this model won’t provide that convenience without extra setup.

Troublesome setup and limited Apple support
If you don’t have a disc drive, finding the right installer online can be frustrating. It does not integrate with Apple’s AirPrint out of the box, so printing from iPhones or iPads may be impossible without workarounds. Even with experienced tech help we had difficulty getting reliable wireless printing on our network—devices could see the printer but printing wouldn’t go through.

Functions as expected, delivery frustrations
The printer works fine and has no operational issues. However, the delivery timeframe was longer than I wanted, which was disappointing.

Solid little printer
Produces good prints and has been reliable. Overall I’m satisfied with the performance and output quality.

Impulse buy, toner costs give me pause
The unit works well and print quality is good, but I didn’t research the cost of replacement toner. Genuine cartridges are expensive, and because I don’t want to let it sit unused I’m considering selling it. There are third-party supplies, but they aren’t a guarantee and I’d prefer keeping things active rather than boxed away.

Mac installation guide would help
Small and lightweight with decent print speed and acceptable quality for home or small office. Mac users will find the official documentation lacking. For wireless install I used WPS with my router and the printer connected quickly; wired setup follows the same driver steps but also needs that initial USB link for some systems.
