PluroGel Burn & Wound Dressing Gel — Moisture-Retaining Hydrogel
Product description
This product is a translucent, semisolid hydrogel intended to create and maintain a moist environment that promotes epithelial repair. It is water-soluble, biocompatible and formulated to be non-cytotoxic, making it suitable for delicate skin and common superficial injuries.
The supply comes in a compact squeezable tube for topical use. The gel is odorless and designed to be spread easily across cuts, minor burns, abrasions and chronic wounds such as small ulcers. Typical use involves cleansing the area, applying a thin film of gel, and covering it with a sterile gauze and secondary dressing to protect the site.
Compositionally it is based on a hydrogel matrix with a small number of active components that establish the proper moist wound conditions, plus preservatives to maintain product integrity in the opened tube. Because the formulation is water-soluble and free of fragrances or added metallic antimicrobials, its main role is to manage moisture levels and support gentle debridement between dressing changes.
Pros
- Maintains moist wound environment for healing
- Fragrance-free and gentle on sensitive skin
- Easy to apply from a squeezable tube
Cons
- No built-in antimicrobial agent
- Tube is small for repeated use
- May require frequent dressing changes
VerdictA straightforward hydrogel dressing that preserves a moist wound environment without scent or harsh additives. Gentle on sensitive skin and simple to apply under gauze, it helps limit scabbing and can aid in gentle removal of debris between dressing changes. It does not include added antimicrobials, so consider that when managing higher-risk wounds.

A kitchen first-aid staple
I still nick or burn my fingers now and then while cooking, so I keep this gel in the kit. It was used after a slip with a very sharp knife. The formula is fragrance-free and gentle, so it didn’t sting. The gel keeps the cut moist, which helped limit scabbing and seemed to speed surface healing. It’s suitable for tender areas that rub.

Compact tube, simple application, fragrance-free
The small squeeze tube dispenses a clear, odorless gel that spreads easily. I used it on a scrape behind my heel: clean the wound, apply under gauze, then cover. The base is a hydrogel with preservatives to protect the tube; no added silver or perfumes. I tested a bit on my inner elbow first and had no irritation. So far it’s done the job.
