18-Inch Stainless Steel Measuring Ruler with Cork Backing
Product description
What you get: One 18-inch (45 cm) stainless steel ruler. The straightedge is sized for a variety of measuring tasks and built to last so you won't need to replace it as often as wooden or thin plastic rulers.
Construction and features: Made from quality stainless steel, the ruler resists wear, rust, and corrosion while maintaining its shape and accuracy. The metal has enough flex to follow gentle curves without snapping. Both ends are finished smooth to avoid sharp edges, and a punched hole near one end makes hanging or pegboard storage simple.
Cork-backed, non-slip design: A cork strip is bonded to the underside to hold the ruler steady on paper and work surfaces. This backing reduces slipping during use and helps stop ink or paint from seeping beneath the straight edge, protecting your work and improving measurement accuracy.
Markings and readability: Scales are laser-etched and then filled with paint for long-lasting contrast. Both inch and metric measurements are provided and are easy to read for precise layout, cutting, or drawing tasks.
Where it’s useful: Suitable for home, classroom, drafting table, woodworking bench, and various craft projects. It works on canvas, glass, leather, wood, wallpaper and similar surfaces, making it a handy tool for designers, students, engineers, carpenters, hobbyists, and DIYers.

Happy with the cork-backed metal ruler
This metal ruler with cork backing fits my needs. I might pick up a shorter one too, but it pairs well with my 12-inch.

Slight warp on arrival
It showed up a bit warped upward and couldn't be fully flattened, but it still performs well enough for measurements.

Longer than a pocket ruler
Perfect when a 6-inch tool won’t do—good length and a solid feel for larger projects.

Useful scale layout with a quirk
Both inch and metric markings are present, but the zero points aren’t aligned on the same end. The cork backing does keep it from slipping.
