Smith Engage MIPS Mountain Bike Helmet — Trail-Ready Protection
Product description
Designed for all kinds of singletrack — from big berms and rocky sections to flow trails — the Engage is a utilitarian mountain bike helmet built to be used hard. The package typically includes the helmet with its adjustable visor and removable/replaceable comfort pads; documentation and fit guides are included in the box.
Protection is provided by zonal Koroyd energy‑absorbing cores combined with the MIPS Safety Protection System to help manage rotational forces. The shell and Koroyd segments are engineered to meet U.S. CPSC Bicycle Helmet Standard for riders age 5 and older, as well as CE EN 1078 and AS/NZS 2063 certifications.
Ventilation is handled by 20 fixed vents that channel airflow across the head, paired with Ionic+ liners that use sweat‑activated odor control. The helmet uses lightweight, low‑bulk single‑layer webbing and a ratchet dial to fine‑tune the fit for a secure, comfortable hold.
The visor is adjustable into two positions to manage sun and trail glare, and the deeper rear coverage offers a slightly longer profile for added protection and a streamlined look. Smith’s design and eyewear heritage inform the helmet’s fit and styling; the brand has been producing outdoor headwear and optics since 1965.
