OPTIMA 34M BLUETOP Sealed AGM Marine/RV Dual-Purpose Battery
Product description
What’s included: the sealed 12-volt OPTIMA 34M BLUETOP battery and an owner’s guide with basic installation and troubleshooting information.
Construction and materials: this battery uses OPTIMA’s SpiralCell technology, manufactured with 99.99% pure lead wound into spiral plates inside an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) separator. The result is a spillproof, sealed unit that does not require routine topping up of electrolyte. Terminals are stainless steel and the case is designed to resist vibration and moderate impacts.
Electrical and physical specifications: nominal voltage is 12 V with 800 cold-cranking amps (CCA) and 1000 marine cranking amps (MCA). C20 capacity is rated at 50 amp-hours. Reserve capacity is listed at 100 minutes, providing extended run time for accessories when the engine is off. Physical dimensions are 10.06 inches long by 6.88 inches wide by 7.94 inches tall, and the battery weighs approximately 38.4 pounds. It offers both SAE and 5/16" stainless steel stud posts for versatile connections.
Intended use and handling: this model is promoted as a dual-purpose unit—capable of reliable engine starts while supporting deep-cycle accessory loads typical of boats and RVs (stereos, pumps, lights). The sealed design allows mounting in most orientations and eliminates regular maintenance like electrolyte checks. For long storage life, disconnect loads and use an AGM-compatible maintainer for periodic charging. Consult the included owner’s manual for detailed installation, charging recommendations, and safety precautions.

Shorter life than expected and warranty hassle
Bought this to replace an original that lasted five years. The manufacturer’s claims suggested longer life, but this unit failed after about two years and would no longer hold a charge during a trip. After returning home I contacted the seller but they could not help due to the 30-day return policy and advised contacting the manufacturer. Disappointed with the lifespan and the post-purchase support experience.

Better fit in battery box
Swapped these into my travel trailer’s battery compartment and they fit much better than the old batteries. Performing well so far.

Ten years of service on my boat
Used this as my start battery and to run bilge pumps. It made it to ten years before I replaced it for age-related reasons, not failure. Incredible longevity and reliability over its life.

Tough in construction equipment
Used in a 580 Case backhoe; survived off-road conditions and constant vibration without issues. Sturdy performance in heavy-duty use.

Compact and practical with stainless posts
Rely on these for my boat power needs. One of four purchased in 2023 failed a couple months after a 24-month period, which was unusual for me, but the replacements have been performing well so far.

Solid marine option
Used these marine AGM batteries for my boat and found them to be reliable and consistent in service.

Dependable starter for my boat
Starts my boat consistently. I disconnect the positive terminal when the boat sits unused to prevent small drains from stereos or alternator diodes. Before trips I boost it with a 2 amp maintainer set for AGM to top it off. AGM construction holds charge longer than typical flooded batteries and provides healthy cranking power.

Packaging and shipping concerns
Ordered two units — the deep-cycle arrived perfectly packaged, but this starting battery arrived in damaged packaging and showed signs of a previous return. Terminal covers were missing and the case was cracked with a small leak. Web returns are restricted for hazardous items, so I had to call customer support to address the problem.
