Lockly Visage Zeno Smart Deadbolt with Facial Recognition
Product description
What’s included
The package contains the exterior sensor head, interior control module, mounting hardware and strike plate designed for a standard deadbolt installation, two rechargeable batteries, and the documentation to guide setup. The lock supports Apple Home Key, works with Apple Watch and Siri, and integrates with Alexa and Google voice assistants for voice-controlled access when enabled.
Construction and materials
The Visage Zeno pairs a metal deadbolt and reinforced interior chassis with a weather‑resistant finish and a polycarbonate cover over the biometric sensors and touchscreen. The facial system uses dual infrared imagers and on‑device encryption so facial templates are stored locally rather than in the cloud. A 3D fingerprint sensor with AI‑assisted learning is also built into the exterior trim for rapid biometric unlocks.
How it works and unlock methods
This deadbolt offers six ways to open the door: facial recognition, fingerprint, numeric keypad, the Lockly Home smartphone app, a physical emergency key, and through compatible voice assistants or Apple Watch. The facial reader is designed to detect and unlock as you approach in a few moments, while the 3D fingerprint sensor claims sub‑second recognition and the system can store many user prints and codes for family and guests.
Connectivity and management
The lock includes built‑in Wi‑Fi so remote locking, unlocking, access sharing, and activity logs are handled through the Lockly Home app without a separate bridge. It also supports Apple Home automations and Home Key so iOS users can manage access from the Home app. Battery management is straightforward thanks to two interchangeable rechargeable packs included with the unit.
Fit and installation
Visage Zeno is designed for standard residential doors, accommodating left or right swing installations with door thickness from 1 3/8" up to 3 1/8". Installation is intended to be a DIY project using common household tools and typically takes under 30 minutes for those comfortable with basic hardware work. If desired, a locksmith can re‑key the override cylinder to match existing house keys.

Good hardware and responsive support
There are two hardware generations; the newer one integrates the door sensor and magnetic strike. I ordered the older version by mistake, but the company supplied upgraded parts after I contacted support, which saved me a return and installation hassle.

Face unlock is the headline feature
The lock supports many entry methods, including temporary codes, and the facial system makes coming in with your hands full effortless. The proprietary rechargeable batteries last a long time and the spare lets you swap without downtime. The app plays nicely with Google Home for basic control.

Top-tier performance in daily use
I’ve owned several smart locks over the years and this one outperforms them for reliability and speed. Installation took about an hour, and enrolling family with codes, fingerprints and face scans was painless. Facial unlock is virtually instantaneous and battery life has been excellent.

Nearly flawless — a few cosmetic missteps
Everything from face unlocking to remote control and temporary codes works exactly as advertised, and two batteries included is a thoughtful touch. My only gripe is the door‑state sensor looks a bit tacked on; it doesn’t affect function, but it could be refined.

Truly changed how we come and go
After researching many smart locks I chose this one for the facial recognition and Apple Home integration. With arms full of groceries, being able to have the lock recognize us as we approach has been a real convenience. The unit feels well built and installation was straightforward.

Considering a second unit
I replaced an older smart lock after it began draining batteries and became unreliable. I picked the black finish to match current hardware and because I wanted something that would integrate with both iOS and Android ecosystems. Setup was easy and it looks like it will fit the final door refinishing once the house project is done.

Does nearly everything I wanted
After researching options I bought this specifically for Apple Home and Home Key support without needing a separate hub. I now use face unlock more often than my watch or PIN. A locksmith re‑keyed the override for me, and I plan to add more units around the house.

Installation was simple
The mechanical install was easy and most features worked right away, though I needed a firmware update to enroll my face. After updating, facial recognition has been flawless. Having two long‑lasting batteries included is very convenient.

Quick biometrics, solid look and feel
Installed a few months ago and the facial recognition has proven reliable through different looks and conditions. Both face and fingerprint access are fast and work well in low light. The app and Alexa integration have been trouble‑free so far.

Worth paying for convenience
I was hesitant because of cost and mixed app reviews, but setup went smoothly and face unlock performs consistently if you stand in front of the unit. Storm doors can block the camera, so plan around that. The fingerprint backup works fine, but I mostly rely on facial unlock.

Not suitable for some apartment installations
The lock performs well, but it was deemed noncompliant for my apartment because it lacks the required fire rating. My strata board informed me I must replace it with a certified unit, which means additional expense and installation work. Very disappointing after a year of use.
