Dr. Squatch Natural Men’s Bar Soap — 5oz Bars (5-Pack)
Product description
What’s included: a pack of five 5-ounce cold-process bars, each in a different scent: Coconut Castaway, Wood Barrel Bourbon, Fresh Falls, Birchwood Breeze and Gold Moss.
How it’s made: These bars are produced using a traditional cold-process method and include nourishing, plant-derived ingredients such as Coconut Oil and Shea Butter for conditioning, plus Kaolin Clay for a smooth, cleansing feel.
Ingredient profile: Formulated to be predominantly natural in origin (98–100%), the recipe avoids parabens, sulfates, phthalates and silicones while relying on botanical oils and essential oil blends for fragrance.
Use and performance: Work the bar into a rich lather with wet hands or a washcloth, scrub and rinse. The bars are sized to last through many showers, produce a creamy foam and are intended to leave skin feeling clean without heavy residue.
Additional notes: Packaged as a gift-ready set, it’s marketed as an upgrade to standard daily soap—suitable for gifting on occasions like birthdays, Father’s Day, holidays or as a routine refresh.
Pros
- Cold-process formulation with plant-based moisturizers
- Five distinct scent options in one set
- Free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and silicones
Cons
- Fragrance strength varies between bars
- Some users report bars wear down or crumble
- Tends toward a higher cost than mass-market options
VerdictThis 5-bar set delivers a variety of rugged, naturals-forward scents and a satisfying, creamy lather thanks to coconut oil, shea butter and kaolin clay. The bars are cold-processed and largely of natural origin, formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates or silicones. Scent strength varies by fragrance and some users report bars wear down faster than they’d like, but overall it’s a solid op

Excellent first experience
First time using this set and the scent and feel were impressive. Gentle on my sensitive skin, lathers up nicely and the fragrances last without being overwhelming. Packaging was neat — glad I tried it.

Husband-approved and pretty to boot
My husband loves them and I’m a fan too. Every bar smells great and looks appealing. They lather well, are gentle on skin and last a good while. We’ll keep buying them.

Doesn't last as long as hoped
The bars break down quicker than I expected and crumble easily. They clean well, but longevity and durability are disappointing.

Works well for sensitive skin
I have very reactive skin and needed a soap without silicones or harsh synthetic fragrances. The natural oil-based scents here don’t irritate me, the bars aren’t greasy, and the larger size helps justify the expense. Very pleased.

Natural-focused and rugged-scented
This brand positions itself as a natural alternative with masculine fragrance profiles. The bars use oils like olive, coconut and palm with essential-oil scents, and they avoid harsh additives such as parabens, sulfates and phthalates. Scent variety is a major selling point.

A bit expensive but most scents work
I avoided this brand because of its cost but finally tried a few. While not every scent is a home run, most are pleasant. They’re nicer than many generic bars and I stick with scents I enjoy, though the marketing oversells the natural angle.

Good overall — scent ranking included
I started paying more attention to ingredients and picked the five-bar set. Pleasantly surprised by the aromas. My personal ranking: Wood Barrel Bourbon, Coconut Castaway, Gold Moss, Birchwood Breeze, Fresh Falls. Fresh Falls felt the most like a traditional soap.

Underwhelmed by the scent differences
I was let down that all five bars seemed too similar and not very fragrant. Expected more distinction between the varieties.

Wanted to like these more
There are mixed opinions out there, so I tried them. A couple scents—like pine tar variants—have punch, but several others border on faint. The natural concept is appealing, but some bars feel under-scented.

Switched from a mainstream bar, won’t go back
I used a common exfoliating bar before and often felt a filmy residue. These bars rinse cleaner and the natural scrubs (charcoal, shells, bark) feel gentler on drains and skin. I tested different bars daily and preferred these overall.
