C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Dogs — Extra Small Chews
Product description
These enzymatic oral hygiene chews are designed as a daily dental supplement for dogs. Each package contains single-layer, all-beef rawhide chews flavored with poultry to encourage acceptance. The chews are offered in multiple size options, including extra small for very small breeds, so you can pick the right fit for your pet.
The formula uses an exclusive dual-enzyme system combined with a textured surface. As a dog chews, the abrasive texture provides mechanical scrubbing, while the enzymes work with the enzymes in saliva to help break down plaque and slow tartar buildup. The product is intended to be given regularly as part of a home dental routine to help keep teeth cleaner and breath fresher between brushings or professional cleanings.
Because the chew is a single layer of beef rawhide, it’s made to be easier to digest than multi-layer rawhide products. Owners typically offer one chew a day as a treat and should select the correct size so the dog chews rather than swallows large pieces. Supervision is recommended, especially for dogs that tend to gulp treats quickly. These chews are marketed as a complementary oral care aid—not a replacement for veterinary dental procedures when those are needed.
Pros
- Dual-enzyme action plus textured chewing for plaque control
- Poultry-flavored to encourage acceptance
- Single-layer beef rawhide intended for easier digestion
Cons
- Extra small pieces can be consumed too quickly
- Potential choking risk for rapid gulpers
- Doesn’t replace professional dental cleanings
VerdictA useful daily supplement for maintaining dental hygiene in small dogs: palatable poultry flavor and an enzymatic-plus-mechanical action help reduce plaque and tartar. Choose an appropriate size and supervise fast chewers to avoid swallowing large pieces. Not a substitute for professional cleanings.

Visible plaque and tartar improvement
My two small dogs absolutely love these. Our vet suggested them because brushing alone wasn’t enough, and we’ve seen a clear reduction in plaque and tartar. Their teeth look whiter and healthier after regular use.

Choose a larger size for extra small dogs
My 7 lb dog enjoys these, but the extra small size is gone in under a minute, which defeats the enzymatic benefit. I switched to the medium size and he chews it for a very long time, so the larger size is more effective and economical.

Vet suggested alternative to brushing
Brushing wasn’t going to happen at my house, so I tried the enzymatic chews recommended by our vet. The dog adores them and after a few sessions her teeth looked noticeably cleaner.

Chihuahua can't get enough
My 5 lb Chihuahua will chew one for up to an hour and prefers these over other treats. They start hard and soften as she chews. Occasionally she eats an entire chew in a day but hasn’t had any stomach issues.

Recommended by my vet, dogs enjoy them
I give small chews to my older small dog (even with missing teeth she can chew them) and larger chews to my other dog. They’ve helped clean their teeth and my vet approves; I’d recommend them too.

Good even for picky eaters
A picky dog in our home still takes these chews, which helps maintain dental hygiene and makes her breath smell better.

Great daily supplement for small dogs
These chews are part of our everyday routine alongside brushing. My 13.5 lb dog gets excited when I open the bag and actually chews them instead of shredding them instantly. They hold together long enough to provide several minutes of chewing, which seems to help with fresher breath and cleaner-looking teeth. I always watch her while she chews and so far we’ve had no problems.

Worked wonders instead of costly cleaning
After being quoted an expensive professional cleaning, I started the enzymatic chews and a dental rinse. Within a month there was a dramatic improvement in Sailor’s teeth and his breath was noticeably fresher.

Dangerous choking incidents — caution
Update: my dog has choked three times on these chews despite supervision. Pieces can become pliable and lodge in the throat, cutting off the airway. I’m discarding the rest and urge extreme caution, especially with dogs that gulp treats.
