BLCKTEC 460T OBD2 Car Scanner — Code Reader with 12+ Service Resets
Product description
Overview and kit contents
The BLCKTEC 460T is a handheld OBD2 diagnostic tool intended for hobbyists and technicians. The package typically includes the 460T main unit, an OBD2-to-device cable, a quick start guide, and a soft carry pouch. The scanner draws power from the vehicle’s OBD2 port, so no internal battery is required for operation.
Construction and display
The housing is a molded, impact‑resistant plastic with rubberized side grips for easier handling in a garage environment. The front features a color TFT display (approx. 3.5 inches diagonal) and tactile buttons for navigation. The unit’s footprint is compact — roughly 7.0 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches — and it weighs about 10 ounces, making it portable for roadside or shop use.
Supported diagnostics and data
Functionally, the 460T supports all 10 standard OBD2 modes for generic diagnostics: reading and clearing trouble codes, checking freeze frame data, and viewing real‑time OBD2 parameters. It also reads and clears manufacturer-level codes for major systems such as engine, transmission, ABS and SRS, and captures OEM live data streams. You can view, graph, record, replay, and overlay multiple live parameters to aid troubleshooting.
Service functions and advanced features
This model provides 12+ service/reset functions commonly used in workshops, including oil/service reset, ABS bleeding, electronic parking brake (EPB) reset, steering angle sensor (SAS) calibration, diesel particulate filter (DPF) reset, throttle body relearn, battery registration/initialization, TPMS relearn, transmission and fluid‑change resets, maintenance interval resets, and more. Availability of specific functions depends on the vehicle’s make, model and year.
Convenience and connectivity
The scanner includes AutoVIN and AutoScan features to automatically identify the vehicle and poll its ECUs after connection, plus AutoReLink to restore communications if interrupted. These automation features speed inspections and reduce manual input. The 460T pairs with a companion app (RepairSolutions2) that provides verified fix guidance, parts info, service bulletins and cloud storage for scan reports; the app is offered at no subscription cost.
Updates, compatibility and support
The device comes with free lifetime updates to add new vehicle coverage and diagnostic enhancements. It supports OBD2‑compliant passenger vehicles sold and registered in the USA and Canada from 1996 onward, including gasoline and light‑duty diesel models from domestic, Asian and European makers. Not every advanced service function is available on every vehicle — customers should check vehicle compatibility before relying on a specific reset. The product is designed and supported by a US‑based team with English and Spanish customer service.
Pros
- Comprehensive all‑system scanning and live OEM data
- 12+ dealer‑style service resets for workshop tasks
- AutoVIN/AutoScan speeds up vehicle checks
Cons
- Some advanced resets are vehicle‑dependent
- Menu layout and screen glare can hinder use
- Certain EPB functions may not work on all trucks
VerdictThe 460T delivers broad diagnostic coverage and workshop-style service functions in a compact handheld package. It’s strong on code reading, live data, and routine resets, and the AutoVIN/AutoScan features speed up inspections. While compatibility varies by make/model for certain advanced resets and the interface could be more polished, the unit is a solid tool for home mechanics and small shops w

Handy for DIY Repairs
Worked well for verifying and fixing issues on my own cars. Reliable code reads and useful resets — lets me handle many repairs without a trip to the shop.

Good Counter Unit for a Small Shop
I keep this at the front desk so I don’t haul the big unit for every customer. It reads engine and ABS codes quickly and the AutoVIN saves time. The interface is a bit clunky and the screen can glare under bright lights, but it’s useful for walk‑ins.

Caught a Hidden Coolant Fault Before Buying a Used Car
I scanned a 2020 Camry at the dealer and the tool flagged a coolant bypass valve fault that wasn’t obvious on a test drive. The dealer verified the code, replaced the valve and bled the system before we completed the purchase. Saved us from a surprise repair after buying.

Beginner Friendly — RS2 App Helped Me Diagnose
I’m new to working on my Accord. The scanner read the VIN and auto‑scanned quickly. The free RS2 app translated the code into plain language, suggested likely causes and listed parts, which made it easier to decide what to check first.

EPB Release Failed on My Truck
I bought it to retract the electronic parking brake when changing rear brakes on my 2019 Silverado 1500. The EPB release wouldn’t engage on that model, so it didn’t solve the task I needed. Disappointed it didn’t work on my truck.

Warning — Corrupted Vehicle Files After Use
After connecting it to a GM pickup, a technician friend who programs GM vehicles found the scan tool had corrupted and removed multiple files, leaving the truck unable to start. He spent hours and significant effort restoring the vehicle computer. I returned the unit to the seller and won’t purchase another.
