Recipe Ingredients

  • Hard Sourdough Pretzels. You'll need 1 box. I used Snyder's of Hanover because IMHO they're the best.
  • Lemon Pepper. I used the McCormick brand, which unfortunately only comes in a larger size container. So if you can find a smaller size—because you'll only need 1/2 teaspoon—go for it.
  • Dill Weed
  • Garlic Powder. Not to be confused with garlic salt. Please don't use the salt.
  • Dry Ranch Salad Dressing Mix. I used Hidden Valley Ranch's version, but use what you have available in your area. Make sure it's a packet of dry seasoning and not liquid.
  • Olive Oil. You can also use canola or vegetable oil too.

Seasoned Pretzel Substitutions

In place of the hard sourdough pretzels, you can use pretzel rods, pretzel twists, or truly any small hard pretzel shape!

The Only Tools You'll Need

To make these easy seasoned pretzels recipe, you'll need:

  • Mixing Bowls. You can mix up the seasoning and oil together in one bowl. Add the broken pieces of sourdough pretzels to another, then pour the seasoning over the top to coat them.
  • Whisk and Spatula. Use a whisk to mix up the seasoning. And a spatula to mix up the pretzels and seasoning as well as to spread out the pretzels on the baking sheet.
  • Baking Sheet. You'll need a medium- to large-size baking sheet with a rimmed edge. You can slso use a 13″ x 9″ pan.
  • Container or Ziploc Bag. Something to store the pretzels in after making them.

How it comes together

Mix Up the Seasoning. In a mixing bowl, whisk up the spices and olive oil.

Break Up the Pretzels. You can use a hammer, meat tenderizer, or rolling pin to break them up. Save some larger pieces too, if you'd like. Add them to a larger size bowl.

Pour the Seasoning Over the Top. Pout it over the top, like you would melted butter and popcorn. Then mix it up with a spatula to make sure all the pretzels are covered with that flavorful goodness!

Spread Out. Spread the seasoned pretzels out onto the baking sheet. You don't need to coat the baking sheet either.

Bake the Cool Down. Bake for 10 minutes. Stir the pretzels around, then bake another 10 minutes. Turn the oven off (keep the oven door closed) and let the pretzels sit in there for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a container. The pretzels will keep for up to 2 weeks, but trust me‚ they'll be gone well before then!
