Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray — Semi-Gloss Black
Product description
This product is supplied as an aerosol enamel spray can designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The oil-based formula creates a protective coating that helps prevent rust and withstands weathering on surfaces such as metal, wood, concrete and masonry. One can will typically cover up to about 15 square feet depending on surface texture and application technique.
The paint dries to the touch in roughly 2–4 hours under typical conditions and cures to a hard, semi-gloss finish that resists fading, abrasion and chipping. It is formulated to adhere well to prepared surfaces and works as both a finish coat and a base for further decorative treatments.
Spray functionality includes any-angle capability so you can spray inverted or at awkward angles, and a comfort tip with a broader finger pad to reduce hand fatigue during extended use. For best results, surfaces should be cleaned and free of loose rust or contaminants, and follow the manufacturer’s suggested recoat window to avoid issues such as bubbling or poor adhesion.
Pros
- Strong rust resistance and long-lasting adhesion
- Any-angle spray and ergonomic comfort tip
- Good coverage with semi-gloss finish
Cons
- Coverage varies with surface texture
- Oil-based cleanup and fumes require ventilation
- Must follow recoat timing to prevent defects
VerdictA reliable aerosol enamel for touching up and refinishing metal, wood, masonry and concrete. The oil-based formula provides strong rust inhibition and good adhesion, while the semi-gloss finish offers a subtle shine. It sprays from any angle and includes a comfort tip for longer jobs, making it practical for fence, furniture and trim work. Expect solid coverage and lasting performance when applied

Can is full — heed recoat times
Can was filled as expected. Follow the recommended timing for subsequent coats; waiting too long caused bubbling on one test area.

Received single can, not two
I expected two cans from the description but received only one. Disappointing compared with expectations.
