Vinyl cutting
Red 12" x 50 ft Medium-Tack Vinyl Transfer Tape (Clear Grid)
Product description
This product ships as a single 12-inch wide roll measuring 50 feet long of transparent transfer tape printed with a red grid. The film is engineered to be tear-resistant and to peel cleanly from vinyl backing, making it suitable for applying decals and layered graphics.
The tape uses a medium-strength adhesive: strong enough to pick up permanent indoor and outdoor adhesive vinyl including popular brands and formulations, yet formulated to release the vinyl smoothly onto the target surface without leaving tacky residue. It’s ideal for smaller or more detailed work as well as larger decals.
The printed 1/2-inch red grid is semi-transparent to help line up designs and trim material with precision. The roll can be cut to desired widths and lengths with scissors or a craft knife and is intended for use on smooth surfaces such as windows, walls, ceramic, glass, and paper signage.
Compatibility notes: this transfer tape is intended for standard adhesive vinyl used with cutting machines and craft cutters. It is not suitable for holographic vinyl, glitter finishes, or heat-transfer vinyl (HTV). The backing paper may vary between batches; some crafters prefer a thicker backing for easier peeling.
For application, burnish the tape onto the vinyl to ensure full contact, lift the vinyl from its carrier, position on the target surface using the grid, and then press down before removing the transfer layer. The roll provides many transfers depending on reuse and handling.
Pros
- Transparent red grid for accurate alignment
- Medium tack lifts vinyl without leaving residue
- Durable, tear-resistant film
Cons
- Not compatible with holographic, glitter, or HTV
- Backing paper thickness may vary
- Can curl from the roll when layering
VerdictA dependable medium-tack transfer tape that balances grab and release for most adhesive vinyl jobs. The red translucent grid helps align designs, the film resists tearing, and it generally leaves no sticky residue. Not compatible with holographic, glitter vinyl, or heat-transfer vinyl, but works well on smooth substrates like glass, ceramics, windows, and signs.

My favorite transfer tape so far!!!
Impressed by how cleanly it lifts decals — I used Oracle 851 and it grabbed the vinyl without fighting the carrier. Film peels off the application layer easily and the 50-foot roll gives lots of usable material. Quality felt professional.

Solid and user-friendly
Good grip and easy to handle; moving designs was smooth and straightforward. I’m pleased with its performance and would purchase again.

Reliable performance with my laminator method
I run my pieces through a cold laminator after applying the tape for even pressure. It picks up vinyl neatly, holds it firmly, and releases smoothly when I apply it. Works seamlessly with my workflow.

Great for detailed craft work
Tack is right in the middle — not too strong, not too weak. Handles tiny lettered designs without tearing the backing and the red grid makes alignment simple. Leaves no residue and the long roll lasts a long time.

High quality — works for delicate details
Strong but manageable adhesive that was easy to cut and applied well to a candle project. Picked up fine elements without issue and simplified the transfer process.

Go-to tape for most projects
Consistently picks up vinyl cleanly and adheres well during placement. I use it with glossy and matte vinyl and it performs every time. The clear film helps with positioning and I often reuse pieces several times.

Mixed results for me
It’s okay but I struggle to get consistent pick-up. Maybe user error, but sometimes it won’t grab and other times it’s too sticky. You do get a lot of tape for the cost, though.

Works well with minor quirks
Performs well for most surfaces but can be tricky on some cardstock. Reusing pieces is possible but each use reduces tack. The roll’s curl can complicate layering at times.

Arrived damaged my project
Extremely disappointed — I believe the product was counterfeit. It failed and ruined my project. Would not recommend based on my experience.

Many transfers from a single piece; backing changed later
It lasted through dozens of transfers for me — I got roughly 50 uses from one section. An update: newer batches have a thinner backing that’s trickier to peel, so I knocked my rating down slightly.
