MD100 1MP USB Digital Microscope Eyepiece Camera
Product description
The MD100 is a compact 1-megapixel USB eyepiece camera intended for use in standard microscope ocular or photo ports. The kit ships with the camera body and two cylindrical mounting adapters that allow it to fit 23 mm, 30 mm and 30.5 mm ports. It is powered and connected over a single USB cable, so no separate power supply is required.
This camera implements UVC (USB Video Class) for plug-and-play operation, enabling it to behave like a webcam in conferencing and streaming applications on Windows, macOS and Linux. Native platform support includes Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 and Mac OS X, with Linux support available. Developers can interface with the device via native C/C++, C#, DirectShow, TWAIN and LabVIEW.
Windows users receive the full-featured imaging suite that provides capture, editing, measurement and processing capabilities, including image stitching, extended depth of field (EDF), video recording and calibrated measurement at multiple magnifications. Preview and capture can be set independently to allow smooth live view while saving higher-resolution stills. Mac and Linux builds supply a lighter client that still captures stills and video and gives basic controls for exposure and color.
Also included is a child-oriented software edition designed to simplify capture and make the interface approachable for younger users. The camera’s small form factor and cross-platform drivers make it suitable for classroom use, remote inspections, and web-based demonstrations where a simple USB-connected imaging solution is desired.

Adapters advertised but not in my box
Product listings and photos claim the two larger mounting sleeves are part of the package, yet my shipment lacked them. The foam insert had two vacant circular slots that clearly should have held the adapters. Other buyers have mentioned the same omission. The camera itself seems okay for basic use, but if you need those adapters this may not be the right purchase for you — I returned mine.

Dark images and missing pieces
The adapters weren’t included and the image output was very dark even after adjusting brightness. The picture quality didn’t meet my needs, so I’ll be investing in a different camera.

Second order, same missing adapters
I returned the first unit for the absent adapters and reordered, but the replacement also arrived without them. The description says it fits 23mm, 30mm and 30.5mm with two adapters included. I’m returning this one too and requesting a refund — this has been a waste of time.
