Hori Hori Garden Knife — 7" Stainless Steel Blade with Walnut Handle
Product description
All-in-one gardening tool: This Hori Hori comes as a single knife and a protective sheath with a belt loop for carrying or hanging. The sheath keeps the blade covered when not in use and the handle includes a top hole for storage on a peg.
Blade design and features: The knife has a 7-inch stainless steel blade set in a 12.1-inch overall length. One side is sharpened for slicing while the opposite edge is serrated to saw through fibrous roots. The blade is tapered and slightly curved for scooping soil, and inch markings are etched along the blade to measure planting depth. A small cord-cutting notch doubles as a bottle opener for field use.
Construction and materials: Made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the blade extends into a full tang for greater durability under heavy use. The tang is secured into a walnut wood handle with three metal rivets, providing a solid connection between blade and grip.
Handle and ergonomics: The hardwood handle is shaped for comfortable grip and control during repetitive tasks like transplanting or dividing. Its full-tang build helps prevent bending and adds weight for more effective digging.
Usage and care: Use it for digging, transplanting, dividing, cutting roots, measuring soil depth and light sawing. The stainless surface wipes clean easily; rinsing and drying after use helps maintain the finish. Keep the edges sharpened and store the knife in its sheath when not in use.
Pros
- Multi-function blade with straight and serrated edges
- Robust full-tang stainless construction
- Comfortable walnut handle with secure rivets
Cons
- Very sharp edge requires careful handling
- Not premium specialty steel
- Sheath could be more protective for heavy wear
VerdictA reliable, heavy-duty garden knife that handles digging, slicing and root-cutting with ease. The 7" stainless blade, full-tang construction and walnut grip deliver strength and comfort. Useful depth markings and a belt sheath add convenience. Ideal for gardeners who want a single tool for planting, dividing and general outdoor chores, though users should respect its sharp edges.

You garden? This is the tool for it.
So many uses — transplanting, cutting roots, measuring depth. Well made; I bought a second as a gift. Warning: edges are extremely sharp, so handle with care (I learned the hard way).

Tough, sharp, handy and gets the jobs done in several settings
Solid, thick blade that digs deep and severs roots cleanly. No rust so far, cleans easily and works equally well in pots, raised beds and open ground. Better than other similar tools I’ve owned.
