GameSir G7 SE Wired Xbox/PC Controller with Hall-Effect Sticks
Product description
Compatibility and contents: The controller is designed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PCs running Windows 10 or newer, and functions with common PC platforms like Steam. The package typically includes the controller and a detachable braided USB cable for a wired connection.
Motion and sensing: Both the thumbsticks and the analog triggers use Hall-effect sensors — magnetic sensing components that replace traditional potentiometers to reduce wear and virtually eliminate stick drift over long-term use.
Build and interface: The shell is molded plastic with an ergonomic profile and laser-engraved micro-texture on the grips to reduce slip. Two micro switch-style rear buttons are mounted on the back and can be programmed or locked. The face buttons and D-pad use tactile dome or micro switches for crisp presses.
Haptics and audio: Haptic feedback comes from an asymmetric vibration motor setup in the grip and a pulsating motor in the triggers for directional feel. A 3.5 mm headset jack provides direct audio and microphone pass-through for headsets.
Connection and customization: The controller uses a removable USB cable for plug-and-play wired operation without requiring extra drivers on Xbox and most Windows setups. Companion software allows button mapping, profile creation and deadzone adjustments for tailored control.
Size and handling: The pad is slightly more compact and a bit lighter than many standard console controllers due to the absence of an internal battery, while maintaining a weight and balance suited to extended gameplay.

Outperforms OEM ergonomics
I find this controller more comfortable than the original pad. It’s more responsive and feels quicker during play, with improved precision and ergonomics compared to the OEM wireless model.

Exactly what I needed
Sticks that don't drift, configurable back paddles (with lockable function), and easy-to-use software for creating profiles — this controller hits every essential. After bad experiences with drift on other brands, the Hall-effect sticks here are a must. It’s reliable, responsive, comfortable, and a natural fit even if you haven't used an Xbox-style pad in years.

After a year of daily abuse: zero drift, great software
I’ve used the GameSir G7 SE for about a year on competitive FPS and action games across PC and console. Functionally it still performs excellently despite cosmetic wear. The Hall-effect sensors remain precise with no drift, and the dedicated app is well designed for adjusting deadzones, button mapping and profiles. Durability has been impressive overall.

Far superior to a stock pad!
I've used this controller for several years with zero stick drift thanks to the Hall-effect modules. Triggers are sensitive and the software for remapping is straightforward. Response and polling feel excellent, and the textured grip plus weight make it comfortable for long sessions. The cable is very long and detachable. It's slightly smaller and lighter than a typical controller, but after years of daily use it shows no button wear. Considering upgrading for extra features, but this model has been dependable and replaced my need for standard controllers.

Solid design but received a faulty unit
I bought this hoping for a sturdy, budget-friendly controller. The size is similar to an Xbox pad but noticeably lighter. Sticks felt a bit small until I added grip covers. Buttons require a firmer press than I'm used to, but triggers and bumpers are smooth. There are lockable rear buttons which are handy to avoid accidental presses. Unfortunately mine had defects, so check yours promptly.

Solid, ergonomic, and reliable
Comfortable and well-made with strong vibration motors and Hall-effect sensors that should prevent drift in theory. I also received a post-purchase discount from the retailer which was a nice bonus.

A reliable daily driver
I've recommended this to friends looking for an affordable but capable controller. It lacks some system-integrated features but excels in core areas: Hall-effect sticks eliminate drift, feedback is smooth, and the removable front makes customization easy. The braided cable is sturdy and long. After a year and a half of near-daily use it has been dependable with minimal issues.

Simply excellent build and feel
Bought this after my old pad developed stick drift. The weight feels satisfying and the grip texture is high quality. All buttons and triggers have firm, precise responses with no wobble. Slight downside is that small stick movements feel a bit resisted by spring tension, but that also prevents accidental stick bounces. After owning cheaper controllers I now see this as a worthwhile upgrade.

Performs as expected with no issues.

Good overall but audio jack worries
I'm happy with my purchase but noticed issues with the 3.5mm socket. My mic sometimes needs a snug push to register, and on inspection a contact inside looked loose. I’ve treated the pad gently, so this seems like a quality-control hiccup. Button sensitivity also varies slightly. I play Rocket League semi-regularly and aside from the jack it performs well.

Surpasses the original Xbox controller
Update: Nearly a year in and it still feels like new. Bumpers remain snappy, there’s no stick drift, and the braided USB-C cable shows no fraying. I started with the original review praising its durability and responsiveness — this pad has only reinforced that. If you want a wired Xbox-style controller that stays consistent over time, this is a strong choice.

Hall-effect controls are outstanding
I switched after my wireless pad started failing mid-match, and this unit was a revelation. The companion app has a learning curve but offers a lot of customization. It’s wired only, but the braided cable is long and durable and can be unplugged for storage. Programmable rear buttons and magnetic joysticks have made a big difference in reliability and control.

Not just hype — the Hall parts deliver
The analog sticks and triggers are smooth and linear, and the Hall sensors truly feel precise. Movement feels free of friction and the stick spring tension is satisfying. Face and D-pad buttons use familiar dome mechanics while most other buttons are crisp micro switches. Stick caps are slightly different from some OEM pads but don't affect performance. Overall the build and input feel are excellent.
