Hans Grill 12-Inch Bamboo Pizza Peel — Wooden Oven Paddle
Product description
This package includes a single 12-inch bamboo pizza peel with an elongated, tapered handle and a leather hanging loop for storage. The blade is sized to fit standard home ovens and offers a gently beveled front edge so pizzas and flatbreads can be nudged onto a hot stone or baking surface with minimal effort.
Made from finished bamboo, the paddle is naturally less porous and more odor-resistant than many hardwoods. The surface is smoothed and polished so a light dusting of semolina or flour will help prevent sticking and promote an easy release when launching pies.
The handle is long and tapered to keep hands away from oven heat while providing a secure grip. A leather loop at the handle’s end allows the peel to be hung for compact storage and quick access during busy prep.
Beyond launching, the durable flat surface doubles as a pizza cutting board or an attractive serving board for bread, cheese, fruit, and charcuterie. Its sturdy feel makes it useful for both food preparation and tabletop presentation.
Care is straightforward: wipe the peel with a damp cloth after use, avoid prolonged soaking, and dry thoroughly. Periodic light oiling can help maintain the wood, and storing it hung or flat helps prevent warping.

Sturdy and Indispensable
You don’t realize how useful a peel is until you have one. This one disassembles for storage and handles large, heavy pizzas without issue.

Thought I’d Master Pizza — This Peel Helped
I bought a countertop pizza oven months ago and quickly learned homemade dough is tricky. After experimenting with ingredients and several peels, this Hans Grill paddle finally made launches reliable. The tapered edge and stable surface let me slide pizzas onto the stone without reloading dough, and a dusting of semolina stopped sticking. It made pizza night less stressful and more consistent.

Slides Like a Pro — Feels Solid and Balanced
Out of the box it felt well made and balanced. Perforations on some peels are useful for letting extra flour fall away; this design helps keep burners and stones cleaner. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, gives good control, and the detachable or slimmer-handle designs make storage easier. A good match for my 12" pizza oven.

Great Value — Surprised by the Quality
I expected less from a budget-friendly tool, but this peel impressed me. The board slips under crusts cleanly, the handle is comfortable, and it hasn’t bent or warped with regular use. Loading and unloading pizzas is nearly effortless now, and it performs well for routine homemade baking.

Excellent for Launching Pies Smoothly
I obsess over dough hydration and launching; this peel makes life easier. The finish keeps air under the crust and prevents adhesion, and any excess semolina stays off the stone. I hand-stretch to about 10 inches, finish on the peel, and everything slides right off. Launching used to be nerve-wracking; now it’s straightforward.

Sometimes Sticky
I like the peel, but occasionally the dough clings and it’s tricky to slide onto the stone. I avoid heavy flouring because it can make the crust taste floury.

Perfect Width for My Oven
The paddle width fits my pizza oven well and makes putting pizzas in and taking them out much easier.
