Woven Grass Rabbit Bed — Portable Chewable Nesting Basket
Product description
An all-natural woven grass basket designed for small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. The package includes one handmade grass bed, crafted from non-synthetic plant fibers with minimal processing so pets can safely chew and nibble on it.
Dimensions are approximately 9 inches long by 8 inches wide with a depth near 3 inches, making it compact enough to sit inside most small-animal cages or to be used outside the enclosure as a portable resting spot. The bed weighs only about 2.5 ounces, so it’s easy to move and won’t add bulk to a habitat.
The woven construction creates a soft, textured surface that acts as a gentle barrier between sensitive paws and hard or wired cage floors. Its natural grass scent can be calming to animals and gives an inviting, familiar feel. Because it’s made from plant fibers, animals often chew and nibble on it; the materials are edible and earth-derived.
Care is straightforward: the item is handmade and dries quickly, but keep in mind that prolonged exposure to moisture or soiled hay may encourage mildew. Many owners rotate these as disposable enrichment items rather than attempting repeated wet cleaning. Ideal uses include sleeping, nesting, chewing, and as an alternative to wire hay racks.
Pros

- Very lightweight and easy to relocate
- Provides multi-use enrichment: sleeping, nesting, chewing
Cons
- Not highly durable against heavy chewers

- Small size may not suit larger rabbits
VerdictThis woven grass bed is a simple, natural accessory for small pets that prefer chewing and cozy hideaways. It’s made from minimally processed plant fibers and comes in a compact 9" by 8" by 3" size that fits most small-animal enclosures. Extremely lightweight and portable, it provides enrichment and a soft surface for resting, though it won’t hold up against heavy, persistent chewing and can becom

Five stars from my bunny
My rabbit is obsessed with this little grass bed — fits him perfectly and he uses it often.

Entertainment and nibble-time
My dwarf rabbit adores these. He goes through one or two each month but seems genuinely pleased. It’s delicate enough for a small bun to crush, so larger rabbits will likely destroy it faster. Great for chewing and keeping him occupied.

Arrived misshapen
The bed was warped when it arrived; the front and back sizes don’t line up so it won’t sit flat. I couldn’t reshape it, but my rabbit enjoys chewing the edges and tossing it, so it still provides stimulation.

Turns out it’s a snack
My rabbit treated this as food rather than bedding — it was eaten rather than used as a bed.

Perfect hangout and snack
A nice seagrass basket that my small rabbits chill in and nibble safely. Works well for photos and downtime.

Playful and destructive use
Our rabbit began eating it immediately and prefers to push it around and dismantle it rather than sleep in it.

Liked for chewing, small for sleeping
My rabbit appreciated it for gnawing and nibbling; a bit too small for lying in comfortably as a full bed.

Great enrichment while it lasts
Our rabbits enjoyed this until there wasn’t much left. We’ll be ordering another one for rotation.

My bunny can’t get enough
My rabbit loves it! Durability is limited by design — they’ll dig and chew it — but that’s expected. I’ll buy replacements as needed.

Great for my Mini Rex
My 3.5 lb Mini Rex started using it right away — naps and sleeps in it nightly. She likes the raised sides for security and has taken a few nibbles. Size matters: if your rabbit is over about 5 lbs, choose a larger option.

Useful replacement for a hay rack
I bought this for a growing, under-2lb guinea pig as an alternative to wire hay racks. He sits in it, eats from it, and sometimes naps there. It does get soiled if hay is left with droppings and I worry about washing it since moisture could invite mold. He doesn’t gnaw it excessively, which is nice, and the material is safe to eat.
